Appeal Procedure

Everyone has the right to request digital accessibility for a website, mobile application, or any of its components. You may also request that information be provided in alternative formats, for example, having an inaccessible document read aloud or a video’s content described without audio description. The request should include the contact details of the person making the request, specify which website or mobile application is concerned, and include the preferred method of contact. If the requester requires the information in an alternative format, they should also specify the desired format.

The public entity must fulfill the request promptly and no later than within 7 days. If this deadline cannot be met, the public entity shall immediately inform when the request can be fulfilled, provided that this period does not exceed 2 months. If accessibility cannot be ensured, the public entity may propose an alternative means of accessing the information.

In the event that the public entity refuses to fulfill the request for accessibility or alternative access to information, a complaint may be filed regarding such action.

After exhausting all options, a complaint may also be submitted to the Commissioner for Human Rights.

Additional Information

Automatic validation of the website’s accessibility by online validators is not entirely reliable and does not replace objective tests conducted by people with disabilities. Therefore, the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights strives to conduct annual accessibility audits of its websites.
